The TUSB4041I device is a four-port USB 2.0 hub. The device can provide USB high-speed or full-speed connectivity on the upstream port. The device also provides USB high-speed, full-speed, or low-speed connectivity on downstream ports. High-speed, full-speed, and low-speed USB connections on the downstream port are enabled when the upstream port is connected to an electrical environment that supports only high-speed, full-speed, and low-speed connections. When the upstream port is connected to an electrical environment that only supports full-speed or low-speed connections, the USB high-speed connection on the downstream port is disabled.


The TUSB4041I device supports per-port or group power switching and overcurrent protection. The device also supports battery charging applications.


Individual control port power hubs turn power on or off for each downstream port as requested by the USB host. Additionally, when an individually controlled port power hub senses an overcurrent event, power is only turned off for the affected downstream ports.


When any port requires power, the teaming hub will power up all downstream ports. Downstream ports are powered off only when all ports are in a power-off state. Additionally, when the ganged hub senses an overcurrent event, it will power down all downstream ports.


The TUSB4041I device downstream port provides USB battery charging downstream port (CDP) handshaking support to support battery charging applications. The device also supports dedicated charging port (DCP) mode when the upstream port is not connected. DCP mode complies with USB battery charging specification and Chinese telecom industry standard YD/T 1591-2009. In addition, Auto mode provides transparent support for BC devices and devices that support voltage divider mode charging solutions when the upstream port is not connected.


The TUSB4041I device provides pin-strapped configuration for select functions including battery charging support, as well as customization for PID, VID, and custom port and physical layer configuration via OTP ROM, I2C EEPROM, or via I2C and SMBus slave interfaces support. Custom string support is also available when using I2C EEPROM or I2C and SMBus slaved interfaces.


The device is available in a 64-pin PAP package and the industrial version is specified over the -40°C to 85°C temperature range.
