TPS61021ADSGR Boost converter provides the power supply needed to keep mobile or smart devices that are powered. The capability of operating using 0.5-V input voltage, allows to increase the runtime of batteries. It operates at a frequency of 2MHz during heavy loads and switches into power save mode when it is not in use to ensure that it is efficient over the entire range of currents used by the load.
The TPS61021A provides a power solution for portable or smart devices powered by alkaline, NiMH, Li-Manganese, or Li-Ion batteries. The TPS61021A is capable of delivering 3.3V and 1.5A when the battery is discharged to a low voltage of 1.8V. The TPS61021A supports a 0.5V input voltage, extending battery runtime. The TPS61021A operates at a 2MHz switching frequency at heavy loads and can enter a power-saving mode at light loads to maintain high efficiency over the entire load current range. The device consumes only 17µA of quiescent current from VOUT under light load conditions. During shutdown, the load is completely disconnected from the input. In addition, the TPS61021A also provides 4.35V output overvoltage protection, output short circuit protection and thermal shutdown protection. The TPS61021A requires a small number of external components, resulting in a very small solution size. The device supports the use of low value inductors or output capacitors at 2MHz switching frequency. The TPS61021A is available in a 2.0mm x 2.0mm WSON package.
