For protection, PTC thermistors are contained in 0603 (1608 Metric) packages. To provide safety, these PTC thermistors are packaged in the Tape & Reel (TR). A PTC thermistor should be operated at a minimum operating temperature of -55°C. In order for this thermistor to operate properly, the operating temperature cannot exceed 150°C. If the thermistor can't transfer and conduct this power loss without overheating, it'll overheat.
