The RT9173B is a converter designed to convert an input voltage in the range of 1.7V to 6V to an output voltage set by a voltage divider formed by two external resistors, and its output has the capability of sourcing or sinking 2A of current to maintain The output voltage is within 40mV of the set value. RT9173B is usually used to connect with a series of terminal resistors to provide high-quality voltage source for dynamic terminal matching for the design of high-speed memory bus and distributed motherboard. It is the most common usage as the terminal matching voltage source of DDR SDRAM. It is tolerant to output fault conditions due to both sourcing and sinking current limiting, plus built-in thermal shutdown. The RT9173B is available in the popular 5-pin TO-252 package SOP-8 package. In the SOP-8 package, multiple V CNTL pins are connected together internally, which greatly reduces thermal resistance.
