The MP1517 is a 3A fixed frequency boost converter ideal for medium to high current boost, flyback and SEPIC applications. A high switching frequency of 1.1MHz allows the use of smaller external components, providing a compact solution for space-constrained applications such as cameras, PDAs and cell phones. The MP1517 has a low feedback voltage of 0.7V, which provides higher efficiency for white LED driver applications such as mobile phone camera flash. The MP1517 can regulate the output voltage up to 25V with up to 95% efficiency. The MP1517 also provides multiple protection features, including internal soft-start, cycle-by-cycle current limit protection, and input undervoltage lockout protection, which can prevent sensitive external circuits from being overstressed or even damaged during power-on and output short-circuit conditions. The MP1517 uses current control regulation and external compensation components to allow optimization of the control loop over a wide input voltage range, wide output voltage, and load current conditions. The MP1517 is packaged in a thermally enhanced 4mm x 4mm QFN16 package.
