MC36212 Overview
In order to protect the PTC thermistors from damage, they are packaged in SMD/SMT packages. PTC thermistors are packaged in the Cut Tape as a safety measure. ldeally, the PTC thermistors should operate at -40°C. A thermistor's operating temperature must not exceed 85°C for it to function. It is possible for PTC thermistors to provide voltages of 16V when they are operating. In theory, this thermistor should be capable of supplying 16V when it is working. These thermistors are rated for 16V in a DC circuit. For PTC thermistors, the current should not exceed 40A. A reliable performance can be achieved by using a thermistor that supplies a maximum voltage of 16V. This thermistor should not provide a voltage greater than 16V in the DC circuit. Those thermistors have been rated 16V for the DC circuit.
