MC36179 Overview
For protection, PTC thermistors are contained in Radial packages. PTC thermistors should operate at -40°C. A thermistor's operating temperature must not exceed 85°C for it to function. When operating, PTC thermistors could deliver a voltage of 16V. The thermistor supplies 16V voltage nominally when it works. The voltage for which these thermistors are rated is 16V in a DC circuit. The heat produced by PTC thermistors should be 3W. It is not recommended that PTC thermistors operate above 100A current. In order to achieve reliable performance, this thermistor should be configured to supply a maximum voltage of 16V.
