The ISO776x devices are high-performance six-channel digital isolators that provide 5000VRMS (DW package) and 3000VRMS (DBQ package) isolation ratings according to UL 1577. This family of devices is also VDE, CSA, TUV and CQC certified.
While isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/O, the devices in the ISO776x family also offer high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions, along with low power consumption. Each isolation channel has a logic input and logic output buffer separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulating gate. Devices in the ISO776x family use all possible pin configurations, so all six channels can be in the same direction, or one, two, or three channels can be in reverse and the remaining channels in forward. If there is a loss of input power or signal, devices without the suffix F will output a high level by default, and devices with the suffix F will output a low level by default. Used in conjunction with isolated power supplies, this family of devices helps prevent noise currents on data buses (for example, RS-485, RS-232, and CAN) or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuits. With innovative chip design and layout techniques, the ISO776x family of devices have significantly enhanced electromagnetic compatibility to mitigate system-level ESD, EFT and surge issues and comply with emissions standards.
