DRV8872DDAR  Describe

The DRV8872 device is a brushed DC (BDC) motor driver for printers, appliances, industrial equipment, and other small machines. Two logic inputs control an H-bridge driver consisting of four N-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) capable of bidirectional motor control at peak currents up to 3.6A. Using current decay mode, the motor speed can be controlled by pulse width modulation (PWM) of the input. If both inputs are tied low, the motor driver will enter a low-power sleep mode. The DRV8872 device features integrated current regulation. This function is based on the internal reference voltage and the ISEN pin voltage which is proportional to the motor current flowing through the external sense resistor. The device's ability to limit current to a known level significantly reduces system power requirements and eliminates the need for bulk capacitors to maintain a stable voltage, especially during motor start and stop. The device provides comprehensive protection against fault and short-circuit issues, including undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overcurrent protection (OCP), and thermal shutdown (TSD). Faults are reported by pulling the nFAULT output low. After troubleshooting, the device automatically returns to normal status.
