APDS-9005-020 Description
A low-cost analog-output ambient light photo sensor in a small chipLED lead-free surface mount packaging is called the APDS-9005. It comprises of a light sensor, as shown in figure 2, whose spectral response is similar to the CIE standard photopic observer. The APDS-9005 is perfect for uses where ambient light monitoring is utilized to regulate display backlighting. These photo sensor solutions will help mobile appliances like mobile phones and PDAs that consume a lot of electricity from display backlighting by dramatically lowering power consumption.
