ADM7172ACPZ-R7 Description

A CMOS low dropout linear regulator (LDO) with an operating range of 2.3 to 6.5 V and a maximum output current of 2 A is the ADM7172ACPZ-R7. This high output current LDO is the best choice for controlling high performance analog and mixed-signal circuits that operate from rails as high as 6 V to as low as 1.2 V. With just a tiny 4.7 F ceramic output capacitor, the device offers good line and load transient response, strong power supply rejection, and low noise using a cutting-edge patented architecture. A 1 mA to 1.5 A load step typically results in a 1.5 s load transient response.

There are 17 fixed output voltage possibilities for the ADM7172ACPZ-R7. There are stocks of the following voltages available: the following voltages: 1.3, 1.8, 2.5, 3.0, 3.3, 4.2, and 5.0. There are a number of other voltages that can be ordered specifically, including 1.5 V, 1.85 V, 2.0 V, 2.2 V, 2.7 V, 2.75 V, 2.8 V, 2.85 V, 3.8 V, and 4.6 V. With an external feedback divider, an adjustable version is also available that supports output voltages from 1.2 V to VIN VDO.

By modifying the start-up time via the soft start pin, inrush current can be managed. A 1 nF soft start capacitor typically starts up in 1.0 ms. The output noise of the ADM7172ACPZ-R7 regulator, which is unaffected by the output voltage, is 5 V rms.
